Bollywood coming to town as per The Journal

BOLLYWOOD films on Tyneside are apparently like Number 1 buses in Heaton.
You wait for what seems like an eternity for one and then two land at your bus-stop at once.
Nevertheless, the news that a second Bollywood feature film is being shot in the region, which comes just a few weeks after the first film crew (shooting Kaun Bola) arrived on Tyneside is pretty exciting.
Shooting began on Apni Boli Apna Des (Our Language, Our Country) last week and will carry on until September.
Locations lined up include Leazes Park, Angel of the North, Tynemouth Priory, Newcastle Airport, Alnwick Gardens and the MetroCentre.
The film is described as a family drama about love loyalty and sacrifice.
Set in India and England, it stars some of Bollywood’s most well-known names.
Heading the list is Raj Babbar, whose CV boasts more than 160 film credits since his breakthrough in 1980.
Punjabi music star Sarabjit makes his first foray into acting and behind the camera is Ravinder Peepat, who has made a host of hit Hindi and Punjabi films.
Northern Film & Media (NFM), the regional screen agency for the North East of England, helped to secure the interest of the production team and bring the film to the region.
Gayle Woodruffe, location service manager at NFM said: “The North-East is fast becoming recognised by producers from across the world as a great place to shoot and we are very pleased that we have been able to work closely with the filmmakers behind Apni Boli Apna Des to bring the production to the region.
“We are keen for our relationship with one of the biggest film industries in the world to grow further.
“There are many incentives to shoot in the North East – numerous, varied, world class locations and a filming friendly attitude that allows filming to take place in a quick and efficient manner
